University of Texas at Austin, Senior in sport management
Born and raised in Houston, I would have to say that my favorite team is the Houston Texans. Although I am also a fan of the Rockets and Astros, the Texans are definitely my all-time favorite. I am really hoping that I will be able to attend my first Texans game this season! (Mostly just to see JJ Watt in the flesh…kidding, kind of.).
If I could attend any event, and besides going to a Superbowl, I would love to have been able to attend a UT vs. A&M game. As a Longhorn, I used to always watch the games on Thanksgiving Day, but I never got to experience it live. I think it would be a very intense and exciting game that I would never forget! I’m still a little sad that we don’t get to play them anymore.
Another one of my favorite teams is the Texas Longhorns. I have been a Longhorn fan for as long as I can remember. Once I found out that I would be attending UT, I was ecstatic to be able to cheer on my favorite team as a Longhorn. I admire the Longhorns because of the values that the coaches instill in the players and the way they display those values both on and off the field.
I am the kind of fan that supports my team whether they win or lose. No matter how well of a season they are having, I take pride in my favorite teams. I am a fan for life, not for a season.
The athlete I admire the most is JJ Watt. His dedication and work ethic is both impressive and unmatched. Not only is JJ Watt an amazing football player, but he is also a stand-up guy. He is humble, honorable, and sets a great example for all of his fans, both young and old. JJ Watt is the kind of player who arrives to the locker room first and is the last to leave. His hard work is directly reflected when he steps onto the football field and he deserves every ounce of success he achieves.
